Mast placement

The guidelines for mast placement for overhead line electrification equipment for my TT model layout are stated in the sections below.

Masts straight tracks

The distance between masts along straight tracks is ≤ 326 mm.

Masts curved tracks

The formula used to calculate the maximum distance d_m between masts at curved tracks is:

$$d_m=4\sqrt{(4.5r)}$$

where:
r = the radius of the curved track.

The maximum angle α_m between two poles is calculated with:

${\alpha }_m=\frac{360\cdot 4\sqrt{(4.5r)}}{2\mathrm{\pi }r}$

where:
r = the radius of the curved track.

Mast Distance from track

The distance between the centre of the mast and the centre of the track is at:

1. Cantilever masts: 24 mm
2. Masts for cross span assembly: 30 mm
